Reigniting Congress: A Proactive Coalition of Conservatives

With the Supreme Court legislating from the bench for the last two days you can imagine my concern over Congress, with Speaker Boehner at the helm, continuing to give up the balance of power to promote the Progressive agenda. Congress not caving into Speaker Boehner or Obama’s wishes through backdoor, secret meetings is essential to stopping this willful subversion of the United States Constitution.
I have long felt that Bill Posey should stand up as a leader for principled government and the Divinely Inspired Constitution. And I do not say that lightly. After all, he has been in office since 2008 and it has only been recently that his voting record percentage is beginning to climb the Conservative Scorecards. (See Conservative Review Scorecard  & Heritage Action Scorecard) I have and will continue to urge him to work with other true conservative and principled legislators as they fiercely introduce legislation to protect my unalienable rights as clearly discussed in The Federalist Papers and as written in final form of the U.S. Constitution.
For example: Senator Mike Lee and Representative Raul Labrador have introduced H.R. 2802 The First Amendment Defense Act to ensure my rights and yours, and beliefs about marriage are protected. Take a look at the dates when the co-sponsors signed on to it and then strongly suggest Congressman Posey sign on as a co-sponsor in support of this bill.
Why? Because if Posey signs on now, with a proactive coalition of Conservatives, the bill is more likely to get passed. Commitment to a Conservative cause matters thanks to safety in numbers by proactive coalitions of Conservatives co-sponsoring bills.
Our nation is now at a critical junction. What is keeping Posey from becoming proactive in co-sponsoring bills that will restore the balance of power as it was originally intended by the Founding Fathers? When co-sponsoring bills with a proactive coalition of Conservatives is necessary and essential to moving forward the the Conservative agenda, why wait until it is time to merely vote?

ICYMI: Ted Cruz “He’s deeply principled.”

A few weeks ago I was chatting with someone who thought I would be supporting Marco Rubio for President. You know, because Marco is the Florida guy. (Yeah, seriously.) I was somewhat offended the person would assume that of me but I got over it quickly as I am considered a right-winger by centrists so was pleased when that person was somewhat surprised to learn I am a #CruzCrew member, a big time Ted Cruz fan.

As the discussion moves along the person brings up what I hear from the Lamestream Media (LSM): Ted Cruz cannot win because he cannot relate to the average person, he is Ivy League educated.

In my head I am thinking “What the heck is this person talking about? How did the person think Ted got elected as Texas Senator when the RINO machine tried to kill his campaign? Obviously the person has never listened to Ted Cruz speak, is oblivious to the role of the grassroots getting him elected or something else is going on here. So I ask: What makes you think that?

Well, without disclosing the why of that person’s thoughts I now present the evidence on how completely wrong my friend and the LSM are by this quote from The New Yorker article THE ABSOLUTIST by Jeffrey Toobin:

Cruz is conservative in appearance as well as ideology. He dresses like an I.B.M. salesman circa 1975, in boxy blue suits, white shirts, and red ties. His black hair is just long enough to be slicked back. When he speaks to an audience, he usually offers a half smile that suggests an unspoken bond with his listeners. He paces the stage, like a motivational speaker, and he extemporizes but doesn’t ramble. It’s easy to follow his speeches, because he sticks to an outline, in keeping with his training as a college debater.

“Easy to follow his speeches.” Yes indeed, absolutely easy to follow Ted when he speaks. The average person need not be a Harvard graduate to understand Ted’s words. He speaks plainly using the Socratic Method when he speaks to people. That is why Progressives fear him.

Add to that the fact Ted Cruz does not say one thing and do something else is evidenced by Michelle Malkin. He usually explains what IS is and then does what he says he is doing or will do and often suggests what we, The People, need to do to effect change. Therefore it is clear what Ted Cruz believes in and it is totally clear when WE, to support what he believes needs be done, need to exercise our  power to #MakeDCListen. (He started that hashtag by the way and it is on the Cruz 2016 bumper I have on my vehicle. Let me know if you want one and I will let you know where you can get one.)

When someone tells me something negative or repeats LSM phrases regarding “Ted said (fill in the blank)”, I just go read or watch what Ted Cruz said for myself. I am smart enough to understand what Ted said because TED CRUZ: HE SPEAKS MY LANGUAGE.

Another example: Fox News Online with SPECIAL REPORT: BRET BAIER featuring Ted Cruz shows Ted discussing and answering questions that anyone can understand! Well, except the panel members who seem to sew seeds of doubt once he leaves the set. Seriously watch and listen to the segment and then decide if Cruz, as a statesman, takes the time to educate and persuade THE PEOPLE to rise up with personal power to take on Congress and #MakeDCListen.

Madison Rising‘s song HERO reminds me why Ted Cruz is a great communicator. He speaks the language of principle and values. Truly, Ted “speaks for the people and what we have to say.” And again, that is why the Progressives fear him.

Ted Cruz is consistent in reminding us that we can stand together to achieve greatness again. He consistently reminds us that we must, as the Jeremy Hoop song says so well, RISE UP! Ted truly believes in the American People, the greatness that lies within each of us to step up and step out of our comfort zones to take back the culture, to collectively reignite that flame of hope and hard work that made America great!

That is why I find it fascinating that Alan Dershowitz, along with saying Ted is one of “the sharpest students” he ever had, is quoted saying:

If you want to defeat Ted Cruz, you have to appeal to his principles not to his tactics

So there you have it. Thanks to Ted Cruz we are finally having real debates with principled ideas to challenge the Progressive lies. Ted Cruz is The New Great Communicator. Ted Cruz is a man of deep principle. And so are we, The People. Ted speaks for us and with us and to us. He appeals to our principles and encourages us to act on those principles. He and we are working in the same direction. We are united in purpose and thanks to Ted Cruz’s leadership we are working toward REIGNITING THE PROMISE OF AMERICA.

Ted Cruz for President of the United States of America. He is deeply principled.

Ted Cruz: He Speaks My Language

I am not one of those brilliant political science people that can spurt out facts, figures, history or dates. My mind does not work that way. But what I am great at doing is listening to and recognizing honorable men and women who are honest enough to engage in debate that is designed to induce critical thinking to make a point.

One of the articles that I find helpful every political cycle is by Gary C. Lawrence titled POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS AND YOU. I liked it so much that years ago I found his number and called him to ask if I could share his article with others. He said yes. He was kind enough to discuss with me that the only thing he would add to the article at that time was in the last paragraph. He believes that one should pray about one’s choice after going through the self-eduation process.

As I go through Mr. Lawrence’s checklist to critically think through current campaign rhetoric I find that Ted Cruz meets my standard for what I want a Presidential Candidate to be. That is why I appreciate Ted Cruz and why Ted speaks my language. I get him. He methodically takes me through a thought process to persuade me about why he believes something is right and why he thinks the way he does. I know his history in consistent and persistent action to back up that in which he claims to believe.

A Time for Every Season: A Time to Write

Last week I came across a few people who are frustrated with national politics and state politics. They all want to do something but like most normal, hardworking Americans, they are extremely busy people. To get involved with politics on a national or state level it takes a lot of time away from family, work, religious and secular responsibilities. And still they press forward trying to make a difference.

Most of you know I am a novice political scrapper myself. I just try to fight my way out of my paper bag every day. I read, I search, and I try to learn what I can to make the best decisions on what I feel is my part in preserving freedom for this great nation. And I have opinions. Lots of opinions. Many I keep in my other paper bag until I can figure out if my opinions are good or bad, needing to be reformed until they are based in facts, as best as I can find them, decipher them, and then put them in some sort of consequential order for my brain to assimilate.

So here is what I know:

  1. There are some people who wanted to have businesses in Rockledge, Florida. They don’t have them here because of what appears to be OVER-regulation by the city.
  2. There are a vast number parents in Brevard who are outraged at the Common Core agenda and High Stakes Testing happening in Brevard Public Schools thanks to Steve Crisafulli’s support of the Jeb Bush agenda: No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
  3. There seems to be a genuine concern about how Commissioner Chuck Nelson is positioning himself for his next job on Merritt Island and how it relates to the power he holds as a County Commissioner.
  4. There are lots of TAXATION without representation questions regarding the “railway” push that is happening over in Port Canaveral that Brevard County taxpayers may want to learn more about before getting drowned at sea.
  5. There numerous problems with the RINO’s vs Conservatives in Washington D.C.
  6. And last but not least, the Man-Child in the Whitehouse with all of his minions who seem to want to destroy the U.S. Constitution by usurping power that does not belong to them.

I also know that if you want to stop the abuse in Washington, it starts by taking back local politics. So that makes me want to take time to write about what local conservatives are standing as sentinels over and is of concern to them. After all, they are in the trenches just trying to live productive lives for themselves and their families.

The above list is where I will start. One day at a time.

THANKS Bill Posey, one of the Courageous Florida FIVE

I have been pretty rough on my Congressman Bill Posey because I too often feel that he does not stand out as a leader among conservatives. He has aligned himself with Boehner too many times for my liking AND he is not prone to support legislation designed to pull back the reins on government before he “has a chance to read the bill.”

Sometimes I feel like I never get a straight answer from his office. They say one thing that sounds good, but then it sounds like there is a walk-back before the discussion is over. That is extrememly disheartening if a clear answer is not given.

I must say that I was beyond happy that Bill Posey voted against Boehner as Speaker of the House. That is one of the most gutsy votes I have seen him take. I am extremely thrilled that he stood up for change in Washington D.C.’s status quo because as noted in a previous post, I am no longer a fan of John Boehner.

So THANKS BILL! Thanks for standing up for change, for risking your position in D.C. by opposing John Boehner. Please know that I have your back and I will stand up for you if Boehner uses thuggary retaliation as retribution for your courageous vote.

I also thank the other four comprising the #FloridaFive of the #24Stood4Us. YOUR courage to work for the 60% who want Boehner ousted is duly noted and will not be forgotten!

THE FLORIDA FIVE:

  1. CURT CLAWSON
  2. RICHARD NUGENT
  3. BILL POSEY
  4. DANIEL WEBSTER
  5. TED YOHO
