Inspiration to Share the Good

Earlier in the month I caught Karen Vaughn on Glenn Beck’s radio program and then again that evening on his television show. It was then, even after having seen her book tweeted about by some of my favorite follows, that I was moved to purchase a copy for me and one specific friend’s birthday gift.

So I went to her website to order them. Once on the purchase link I noticed the 10 Book Bundle as a great deal but I only needed two. Then a still, small voice whispered get the ten book deal.

Much to my surprise, I thought, Who would I give them too?

Oh you will figure that out when they get here, came the quiet reply.

Going with the flow of my thoughts and feelings and a click of the mouse, the book bundle was ordered.

When the box arrived I was excited but wondering to whom these books would go. As I began taking each book out of the box, one by one a name popped into my mind.

Now I have but two books to deliver plus one I need to send to my sister by post. The gifting is complete.

Even at my age, I can be a World Changer. I can help #TakeBackTheCulture by simply seeing the good then sharing the good with others.

Take Back the Culture: Andrew Lumish

If you did not watch the radio show on The Blaze or read the transcript, then you have no idea how much more you missed when Karen was interviewed by Glenn Beck later in the day on his television program. She is absolutely filled with joy and light in spite of the grievous circumstances that have brought her to where she is today, a World Changer.

I want to begin with this great quote by Karen while on the radio show yesterday:

“And I say the greatest principle I can teach any mom is let your husband raise a man. It’s hard not to interfere. But let him raise a man.”

Another observation from Karen that is equally important, from the television program as she discussed some of the reasons for writing her book:

“I think that the concept of liberty has been lost on this generation. I think it has been driven out as a dirty word.”

Those quotes lead me to Andrew Lumish, who is working to take back the culture in his backyard as The Good Cemetarian (he is on Facebook):

ANDREW: Occasionally I will take students with me, high school students who love to go and I’ll have them step back in the footsteps. And it’s always good to know the history of the person and the events of that. So I’ll have them stand in the — descendants who would have stood there at the funeral, and we talk about what the world was like, what the United States was when they were alive and when they die. And what’s great, you get the bad raps on the Millennials. The attention and love that these high school kids have, from different backgrounds — you know what it’s like in Tampa. It’s muddy. It’s wet. And they don’t mind. They sweat. They get out there, and they have a great time and they learn a history lesson. So the negativity about Millennials. But my experience, my own son, about to turn 21, it’s been fantastic. It’s been a great experience. And not just for them. It’s therapeutic for me as well.

And there you have it. A mother and a part time photographer. Reclaiming America. Restoring American Values as each one does a part to Take Back The Culture by focusing on those who need the experiences most. The Giver and the Receiver.

Focusing on the youth of America, and especially empowering the parents of those youth to train up their children to preserve God, Family and Country through personal history and histories from the lives of those who have lived untold stories of agony and ecstasy, is how we learn that we too can become and raise up a host of World Changers instead of snowflakes.

Take Back the Culture: Karen Vaughn

A friend posted a little blurb regarding those young people “our economy has left behind.” Immediately I remembered a Forbes article I had read several years ago, 2013 to be exact:

And then I remembered an even earlier article by Alan Dunn, in 2012:

Last night, as I looked up to my movie poster of MURPH, THE PROTECTOR, I thought how time has dimmed too many memories. How many people will remember the ultimate sacrifices from those difficult, tragic days?

Then today, as I pondered over the original notations from my friend that included more on the Americans For Prosperity tax reform plans when my thoughts went immediately to: Where is the talk of cutting spending, capping spending, and balancing the budget to go along with tax reform? Where are the demands to kill the #ObamacareTax nightmare? Where are the voices clamoring to get government out of our way?

In the background I had my Roku Player tuned into The Blaze television. Karen Vaughn was on the Glenn Beck Radio program. Karen could not have been a more well-timed guest. She helped me put things back into perspective when she said:

“…what I realized after Aaron died was, he gave his life for me, fighting a battle kinetically to protect and preserve the American way of life. Not a government. Not a piece of land. But a way of life.”
