Get a Survey that Matters, Puh-lease!

“Take My May 2018 Constituent Survey!”

Screen Shot 2018-06-05 at 9.37.46 PM.png
Here is the screenshot of the survey.

Why? Why? Why should I take that survey?

Seriously. What are you going to do with the answers from this Two Question survey?

How about you get a real survey that matters and then explain your positions on the following questions:

  1. Are you hoping to
  2. have an Amnesty Deal in place?
  3. Will you sign on to an Amnesty Deal, the discharge petition for H.Res. 774?
  4. Do you think you should vote against Amnesty for Illegal Immigrants?
  5. What action do you think Congress should take regarding Sanctuary Cities?
  6. Do you support Obamacare?
  7. Will you FULL REPEAL Obamacare?
  8. Will you replace Obamacare with a truly FREE MARKET?
  9. What are you doing to get government bureaucrats out of Healthcare?
  10. Will you vote to give all unused tax dollars back to the taxpayers?
  11. Do you support unused tax dollars staying in a congressional slush fund?
  12. Will you, before the midterm election, vote for a $15.4 billion rescissions package?
  13. Do you agree that bureaucrats have excessive rule making authority?
  14. Do you believe you, and your fellow congressional colleagues, have the obligation and reposnsibility to check and balance excessive rule making bureaucrats from oppressing people ?

If you have an opinion on North Korea, more power to you. If you want to know what other people think, then ask questions about that which you have power to vote on and legislate for the sake of Conservative/Libertarians.

It would be really lovely if you would pick a side and then frame the debate with your thoughts so we know what you think

Things that are irritating today.

There are so many irritating things happening today that I cannot speak. Or write about them. Harumph!

Suffice it to say, COME ON PEOPLE! Pull yourselves together.

Now on to the good things fortoday.

  1. I got to see Debbie Wright Dunn! She was at the Green Room Cafe and you just do not know how much joy that brought me! We got to catch up on so much news and we prayed together. It was wonderful.
  2. On the way home I stopped by Cocoa Beach Surf Company off of 520 but they closed the store down! Broke my heart! Thank goodness the main store was still going. There was a truly kind young man who was wonderful on the floor. Impressive sales clerk, personable and great at customer service.
  3. Then I had a great shopping experience at Bealls in Rockledge. Delightful checkout experience.
  4. After that I headed to Paradise Ford for their New Owners evening. Great feast was laid out for those attending. They gave me a Paradise Ford mug and at the end of the evening I got a $20 gift card. It was really nice. Great staff, very attentive and helpful. They answered every question.

Now I need to hurry and go to bed before something irritating happens. I would like to end on a good note after a most irritating day.

Yes. Irritating.

Almost there: 362/365

This writing every day has been a great challenge but boy, oh boy, am I ever happy to know that it is coming to an end! And yes, I can believe it is almost the end, an end for which I am truly thankful.

The Coming Soon sign went up so today my sister came over and helped me out with a couple of things to get the house ready to be photographed tomorrow. I have just a couple more things to do tonight.

Things are moving along rather nicely. Soon it will be the end of living in Florida.

All good things must come to an end. And it is always great when bad or mediocre things end too.

Green Room Cafe, Baby!

This is for my friend, Deborah Wright, owner of the Green Room Cafe at Cocoa Beach.

WE HAVE MISSED SEEING YOU AND EATING AT YOUR FABULOUS ESTABLISHMENT!

We are back in town so went beachside tonight, beelined it, well, 520’d, to your place and had the best service, the best food, and took home some great smell-pretties. (You know I love that Cocoa Beach spray and soap!)

Love the new additions to the menu. Honey-do loved the Gold Coast. Great addition to the wrap lineup. Thrilled to learn about the article in the Cocoa Beach Explorer, (page 12, below the fold).

Sorry we missed seeing you but we will be back soon.

And the 2nd Step to Tax Reform?

Dear Bill Posey,

So the House passed a meager tax plan, a meager First Step toward Tax Reform, and that is nice. But now the fight begins with the Senate Bill, not passed, and currently lacking in its own right.

Will you please address issues like why you are for or against SALT, the Parent Tax Penalty, killing the Death Tax and killing Obamacare Tax on your Facebook page and your YouTube page and your Home Page?

To quote the Conservative Partnership Institute Memo: Read the memo below and on CAP’s website.

Please, post on your social media sites substantial discussions regarding:

  1. Maintain the domestic spending cap passed in the Budget Control Act (BCA)
  2. Do not bail out health insurance companies.
  3. Pay for future emergency spending.
  4. And I add the items in paragraph 2 as previously mentioned.

Cutting your office expenses, by example, was a lovely gesture. But it is not enough after nine years in Congress.

Where is the legislation you are pressing to make the changes that are useful to your constituents? To the American Taxpayers?

Where are your Conservative-Libertarian policies clearly articulated so we, your constituents, can actively support you in pressing forward with a solid platform agenda for substantial and lasting change?

Did you see this great opinion piece by Rachel Bovard in THE HILL, yesterday?

2017: The year congressional Republicans failed to deliver on their promises

What are you fighting for? Another Continuing Resolution? Have I missed your posts about what you are doing to reach a deal on funding the government? What do you stand for? What are you willing to cut? What are you doing, by example regarding  this scenario?

It’s a nightmare scenario for conservatives. For Republicans, it represents a hypocrisy they will have to grapple with for decades. In 2016, the party platform promised “firm caps on future debt,” a full repeal of ObamaCare, and opposition to any form of amnesty.”  ~ Rachel Bovard

Here is another great opinion. Dave Ramsey on WHAT IF THE AMERICAN ECONOMY FAILS published February 3, 2017:

So here we are. You and me. And I still want to know:

  1. What are you doing as a Leader?
  2. As a Leader, what are YOUR key issues and what do you want your consitutents to press forward in promoting to help you push through meaningful, substantive legislation to end this nine year nightmare secnario?

It’s Tea Party Time Florida

My Congressman seems to be pretty set on a path of what he claims a Libertarian bent so I thought it wise to post his Scorecards, the ones that matter most to me, here:

  1. Conservative Review: BILL POSEY in office since 2009
  2. Heritage Action: Bill Posey, Florida, District 8

Who is even worse is Sweet Ol’ Bill Nelson, my misguided F-rated senator. Do not even get me started. Facts speak for themselves:

  1. Conservative Review: Bill Nelson in office since 2001
  2. Heritage Action: Bill Nelson, Florida

I have been following Conservative Partnership Institute. They send me a list of “top stories Conservatives are following” for the week:

Just makes me want to shake my head and roll my eyes. Not at Conservatives but at the state of the nation in my lifetime. In my teens I could never have imagined things would be such a mess, so turned inside out.

The Senate, for years has been a problem when it comes to the watchcare needed to preserve the Constitution. I am so sick of the liars in the Senate. I am sick of them attacking honorable men like Mike Lee and Ted Cruz.

That leads me to share the following serials with you from GlennBeck.com, as a measuring stick for the politicians in your neck of the woods:

  1. Progressive Liars Part I: Fear and Hope
  2. Progressive Liars Part II: German Roots
  3. Progressive Liars Part III: Margaret Sanger
  4. Progressive Liars Part IV: Woodrow Wilson
  5. Progressive Liars Part V: Prohibition
  6. Progressive Liars Part VI: FDR Part I
  7. Progressive Liars Part VII: FDR Part II
  8. Progressive Liars Part VIII: FDR Part III

That takes me to Jenny Beth Martin and the Tea Party Patriots. I really like how the TPPatrios have never lost vision. Jenny Beth is still out there fighting the good fight. Be sure to check out her Journal.

Well, that was a Swoosh!

We are ever so thankful that this is the worst of it. We are thankful to Officer Bret and Miss Y for their watchcare. And we express gratitude to the Christensen’s for boarding our windows.

It appears there is no damage to our home but we are waiting for assistance to remove the neighbor’s tree before assessing any damage. Fence mending and removing debris are so not a problem. An inconvenience, but not a problem.

Friends and family are safe as far as we know. It is all by the Grace of Divine Providence that we are well and accounted for. It could have been so much worse under the circumstances.

We feel blessed.

Before closing out, we want to remember 9/11 and take a moment to honor the memory of all those who suffered through far more than our current inconvenience. Always Remember and Never Forget. America with her amazing, honorable citizens, is Greatest Place on Earth.  God Bless America.

Irma and Florida Friends

For years I have been a fan of Joe Bastardi, now with Weatherbell Analytics, so have been watching his posts on Twitter and Facebook to see how he is calling Hurricane Irma. He made this particular hurricane really great to watch for I have a personal interest in it as it affects Brevard County and Orlando. In fact, I am very invested in the outcome of this monster hurricane.

In between checking out Joe on his social media pages, I have been watching WESH.com and MyNews13.com for visual reports of the weather. As the winds and the rain began the dance of the hurricane it was nice to see live video feeds from some of my friends waiting through the calm before the storm.

Screen Shot 2017-09-10 at 10.24.08 PMSo far, so good. My Florida Family and Friends are safe and hunkered in. They are prepared so they are not afraid, relatively speaking. They know they have done all they can to be as safe as possible during these treacherous hours that lie ahead.

Irma is still traveling northward, having not yet reached Orlando and the storm surge has yet to complete its cycle.

There is no question that we will continue to pray for those we love and for all of those who must endure this 2017 Hurricane Season.

Steven Wright: A funny guy

It has been an emotional roller coaster texting and chatting back and forth with friends and family in Florida as they prepared for, and are now weathing, Hurricane Irma. So far, everyone is either evacuated or boarded up and hunkered in for the duration.

Now all we can do is simply wait.

In the meantime, here are some clips from one of my favorite funny guys, just for a brain break. Steven Wright. I remember watching this on his first Johnny Carson appearance.

Oh my gosh, he cracks me up. I love his so off and deadpan humor!

And one more:

Take Back the Culture: Andrew Lumish

If you missed where this all started yesterday, then here is the reference point:

Part 1: Take Back the Culture: Karen Vaughn

If you did not watch the radio show on The Blaze or read the transcript, then you have no idea how much more you missed when Karen was interviewed by Glenn Beck later in the day on his television program. She is absolutely filled with joy and light in spite of the grievous circumstances that have brought her to where she is today, a World Changer.

I want to begin with this great quote by Karen while on the radio show yesterday:

“And I say the greatest principle I can teach any mom is let your husband raise a man. It’s hard not to interfere. But let him raise a man.”

Another observation from Karen that is equally important, from the television program as she discussed some of the reasons for writing her book:

“I think that the concept of liberty has been lost on this generation. I think it has been driven out as a dirty word.”

Those quotes lead me to Andrew Lumish, who is working to take back the culture in his backyard as The Good Cemetarian (he is on Facebook):

Glenn Praises Man Who Meticulously Restores Veterans’ Gravestones: ‘You’ve Started Something Really Amazing’

QUOTING FROM THE TRANSCRIPT:

ANDREW: Occasionally I will take students with me, high school students who love to go and I’ll have them step back in the footsteps. And it’s always good to know the history of the person and the events of that. So I’ll have them stand in the — descendants who would have stood there at the funeral, and we talk about what the world was like, what the United States was when they were alive and when they die. And what’s great, you get the bad raps on the Millennials. The attention and love that these high school kids have, from different backgrounds — you know what it’s like in Tampa. It’s muddy. It’s wet. And they don’t mind. They sweat. They get out there, and they have a great time and they learn a history lesson. So the negativity about Millennials. But my experience, my own son, about to turn 21, it’s been fantastic. It’s been a great experience. And not just for them. It’s therapeutic for me as well.

And there you have it. A mother and a part time photographer. Reclaiming America. Restoring American Values as each one does a part to Take Back The Culture by focusing on those who need the experiences most. The Giver and the Receiver.

Focusing on the youth of America, and especially empowering the parents of those youth to train up their children to preserve God, Family and Country through personal history and histories from the lives of those who have lived untold stories of agony and ecstasy,  is how we learn that we too can become and raise up a host of World Changers instead of snowflakes.
