FiTTz Meals by Christopher Teeter

Fittzmealsyellowhammerorderform2.0 JPG.jpgWhen I am doing one of these Concept 2 Rowing Challenges, especially when they go on for days or weeks, I find that FiTTz Meals are great to have on hand for my fast food go-to-eats. The vegetarian option is really nice because I can order the quinoa or the rice with vegetables for healthy carbs on a long row day like today’s 12k ladder down.

What I appreciate about Christopher’s service is I am not locked into any plan. I can change things around from week to week, month to month. He delivers to the box but the Honey-do just zips over to the Yellowhammer Cafe to pick up our order earlier in the day.

Of course, if Southern Home Cooking is more your style, well, you can always stop in for that too.

Saturday Breakfast at Shashy’s

Unfortunately I forgot to take photos of our magical Saturday breakfast brunch at Shashy’s Bakery and Fine Food yesterday. It does not take away the fact that it was the most wonderful, delectable breakfast ever, so much so that we unanimously decided, right then and there, Shashy’s is now our first choice for breakfast outings.

We ordered the Eggs Benedict with grits, Two Eggs Any Style with whole wheat toast, sausage, and home fries and finally an order of Blueberry Pancakes with ham. It was a smorgasbord! Everything cooked to perfection in a beautiful presentation. And they serve REAL butter!

Another wonderful aspect of our dining experience was the great service. Our waitress was delightful and personable. It seemed like everyone working there was happy to be there. That was really nice to see, proficient, happy people enjoying their jobs.

Shashy’s is a fine food experience indeed, serving Breakfast until 2 p.m. on Saturdays.

Lovely Lunch: Urban Cookhouse Montgomery

img_7482Our friends suggested we go to the Urban Cookhouse for lunch today. It was pretty tasty. We ordered lime-marinated steak & rice, served with garden salad and a warm orange roll and the veggie quesadilla filled with grilled veggies, black beans, corn, pepper jack and provolone cheese. It was served with avocados and sour cream. We just realized they did not put any salsa on the plate.

We got there right when the doors opened at 11 a.m. so we had plenty of time to check out the goods and the menu before the crowd showed up.

The food presentation was lovely. It looked great and it tasted deliciously fresh. Unfortunately we were so hungry before we got there we forgot to take photos of the food before delving into it.

Reasonably priced, we ate well and had great customer service. We will definitely go there again.
