Oh that Flake: That Yappy Jeff Flake

When I saw this headline in the Deseret News the other day, I thought blood would shoot out of my eyes.

Why Jeff Flake says the 2020 election is a chance for Republicans to save their souls

Jeff Flake for U.S. Senate – Monday, April 30, 2012

Yes. Jeff Flake was endorsed, after having been vetted by my favorite conservative watchdogs, The Senate Conservatives Fund (SFC).  SFC was Jim DeMint’s flagship to get true conservatives elected into the Senate. Team members carefully vetted, and still do, every candidate they endorse. Flake was no exception. Plus, Flake had a really good record from serving in the House.

What happened, Jeff?

Spit.

As SCF supporters know, Jeff Flake misled us and misled the voters in Arizona when he said he would never support amnesty for illegal immigrants again. Shortly after he won his Senate race in 2012, he broke that promise and sided with Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and other liberals in pushing amnesty.

Link: Senate Conservatives Fund

Yes. Oh yeah, that Jeff Flake misled and betrayed voters less than a year from his being elected into the Senate. That shockwave is never forgotten by those of us gobsmacked by his blatant betrayal. That is why many of us loathe him now.

But wait. There’s more. There is always more with Jeff Flake. And my questions are:

  1. Who’s backing him?
  2. Where are his funds coming from?
  3. How did they get him to flip?

Spit.

The media need to know, when reporting on Senator Flake and his “book,” that the author is a deceiver out for personal and financial gain.  I also call on my conservative brethren to denounce this impostor, who dishonorably claims to speak for conservatism, in the strongest possible terms.

Term Limits and why I support CPI

In case you missed Jim DeMint on The Byron York Show #20: Jim DeMint–Remember Him?–Talks Biden, Pelosi, Trump please listen to it. Pay special attention beginning at the 12:00 minute mark.

Jim did what he said he would do which was to step down at the end of two terms. He has always been a proponent for #TermLimits. He is the Chairman of Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI).  And Jim, for his term limit example, is one of many reasons why I donate monthly to CPI.

I believe in #TermLimits. And here is how I put my money where my mouth is:

Imagine Your Name Here,

My name is Jody and like you, I am a Patriot and a member of the Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI).

As an Active Duty Air Force Spouse, I am a monthly donor to the Conservative Partnership Institute and I’d like to share with you why I donate and invite you to consider doing the same.

After working for many years to get and keep Conservatives in office, it has been disheartening to see so many men and women immediately forget their campaign promises. Even worse, too many have become part of the Swamp machine.

It is infuriating how the Washington Establishment uses every carrot and stick in the book to corrupt good men and women.

Like you, I am continually encouraged as I watch CPI’s mission unfold.

CPI’s mission is to support conservatives on Capitol Hill and help teach them how to become more effective in advancing our shared values. More importantly, CPI helps keep good people oriented toward and steeped in the foundational principles of good governance.

When Senator Jim DeMint was in Congress he saw first-hand exactly how the Establishment keeps conservative policy victories from being achieved.

He identified three key areas where the Establishment was hamstringing Conservatives:

1. Most Congressional staff were establishment stooges not conservative fighters.

2. Very few Members of Congress or their staff knew how to use Congressional rules to advance conservative policies.

3. Conservatives – by and large – were not unified in purpose.

I loved that CPI was created to address each of these specific obstacles and  it’s exciting to know that Jim DeMint and his staff do the following to effect change:

1. Surround Members of Congress with conservative staff who are dedicated to the same principles as their boss.

2. Train Congressional staff and Congressmen in the tactical skills and parliamentary procedure necessary to advance our shared conservative values.

3. Unite the conservative movement by providing office and meeting space to over two dozen conservative organizations and Members of Congress. It is thrilling to see how they are literally bringing the conservative movement together under one roof.

Over the last two years CPI has proved to be one of the most effective and truly conservative organizations in Washington, D.C.

I love this quote from House Freedom Caucus Congressman Ken Buck, and it’s a key reason why I contribute monthly to CPI:

“CPI is the only organization providing weapon’s grade trainings on the tactics required to advance good conservative policy. My staff and I are more effective because of CPI’s trainings.”

(Your Name Here), by donating monthly, you and I ensure that CPI has the ability to provide these critical resources to our fighters in Congress.

Will you please join me in making a monthly donation to the Conservative Partnership Institute, even if it is only $5 a month? (And if you can give more, please do!)

Sincerely,

Jody Wardell
CPI Monthly Donor

I know I posted this email solicitation the other day but reading about #TermLimitsLegislation today made me want to place emphasis on CPI as a way to move members of Congress and staff members in that direction. We are the bottom up. Congress is the top down. CPI can help open an effectual door with our support.

Back on the blog, Baby!

After a bit of a hiatus I am back, Baby! I feel refreshed and rejuvenated. Another move is done. Sierra Vista, Arizona is now home, with the mountains around me, the high plains desert beauty, the blue sky, the smiling sunshine beating down on my face. The wind is probably my favorite thing, well at least there is a gentle breeze most days. Even this year’s Monsoon season is fabulous. The thunder and lightening is spectacular.

With the changes that have been going on in my life and the next election cycle around the corner, it has been on my mind to get back into blogging. Thanks to one of my favorite organizations, the Conservative Parternship Institute (CPI), a request came my way to submit a fundraising email. It is posted below. I am thankful to Sean for inviting me to write my thoughts, serving as the catalyst needed to get back to the keyboard.

Donate: Which Conservative Cause?

In today’s current political climate there is a revival of sorts going on in the Conservative movement. It reminds me of the Second Great Awakening, where churches popped up on every corner clamoring for members to be baptized in a particular congregation. So when a new friend asked me about my thoughts on where to participate and donate to help the conservative vision it seemed like posting here was a good place to start.
Often I give to the Senate Conservatives Fund (SCF) Candidates directly: https://www.senateconservatives.com/races  I know SCF vets those they endorse. If a candidate lies to them and votes contrary to conservative principles, they revoke support for that candidate. That is why I check to see who’s who and to support those candidates in particular. Jim DeMint started SCF. It is a consistently conservative organization.
I have donated to David Horowitz’s Freedom Center because there are many great thinkers and writers on FrontPageMag.com, and David has so many irons in the fire to assault the lies of the left. My last big donation was for the archival quality volumes of The Black Book of the American Left. I have been a big fan of his since the 1990’s.
Currently I am donating to Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) because it seems like Jim DeMint understands what needs to be done. I do so waiting to see what good he is bringing about. He is working to unite an army of activists in supporting honorable men and women. As CPI bears good fruit, I will be increasing that donation.
As a Heritage Action Sentinel, my donations there began slowly and to be honest, my donation is embarrassingly minimal.
By subscribing to Glenn Beck’s The Blaze and Mark Levin’s CRTV, I feel like my time and money is well spent being well educated about the things that matter most. I really believe in Glenn’s vision and am looking forward to increasing donations to his company, MercuryOne.org

A few years ago I decided to check myself from getting sucked into funding every good cause. There are many wonderful causes, groups, and sincere people doing marvelous things.  It was overwhelming. Therefore, I prayerfully made a conscious decision to reduce and simplify my life, and to know where to best donate.  In order to focus on what matters most to me, I choose to give more money to a few organizations.
Hope these thoughts are helpful.

Deactivating Facebook: Focus on CPI

Wow. When I hit that button and deactivated Facebook I sighed in joy and relief. Immediately it felt like it was a great decision to take time off of it for a season.

My new focus in the interim is to keep up with the Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI) founded by the Honorable Jim DeMint. I am really excited about CPI’s vested interest in supporting true Conservative ideas. Even more so, I am thrilled at how CPI plans to work with members of Congress and Conservative organizations to work together on pressing forward with those ideas.

If you have not yet donated to CPI then you are hereby personally invited to support the cause. Click here to donate online or you can download a copy of the donor form to send in a check.

Looks like help is on the way

When I got an email from Wesley Denton, Senior Director of Communications for Conservative Partnership Institute (CPI), and it was filled with encouraging quotes and links to great information, it was as though I could hear the Cavalry horn a blowing.

PULLED DIRECTLY FROM THE EMAIL:

Below is a roundup of some of the best media coverage and interviews from CPI’s launch:

FOX & FRIENDS (VIDEO): DeMint Unveils a New Conservative Partnership Institute

AXIOS: DeMint to launch “support system” for conservative members
Think of it as a one-stop shop to create more members like Mike Lee, Ted Cruz, and Rand Paul — conservatives who have built strong networks and staffs… DeMint says his non-profit will help conservative members fill their offices with true conservative staffers; coach their teams on policy, legislative procedure and communications; and introduce new members to the people they need to know in the conservative movement, on Capitol Hill, and in the White House…. Corrigan, who will be CPI’s executive director, is impeccably connected in the movement, on the Hill and inside the Trump Administration.

CONSERVATIVE REVIEW: Jim DeMint’s new conservative group is exactly what we need
Conservatives on Capitol Hill are excited. “The Conservative Partnership Institute will provide a critical bridge between conservatives on Capitol Hill and policy experts in the field. Senator DeMint and his team offer decades of experience serving in the conservative movement and fighting on Capitol Hill,” said Freedom Caucus Chairman Mark Meadows… Organizations like CPI are needed now more than ever. It’s time to give conservative members of Congress the support they need to help President Trump fulfill his promise to drain the D.C. swamp.

FOX BUSINESS (VIDEO): DeMint launches initiative to push more Republicans to the right
Former South Carolina lawmaker Jim DeMint said once conservatives get to Congress they have no support system. “Once you get here, you are in a fox hole, everybody is firing at you, everything in Washington is pushing you against your conservative principles,” he told Neil Cavuto on FOX Business. The former Republican senator has launched an effort to help them succeed.

POLITICO: DeMint launches new group to boost conservatives in Washington
Former Sen. Jim DeMint will serve as chairman of the new Conservative Partnership Institute to fortify the presence of conservatives in Washington, he said in a news release Tuesday, adding that he thinks the status quo is hindering the development of conservative lawmakers and staffers… DeMint’s announcement received praise from Senate and House Republicans. “No conservative leader is more trusted than Jim DeMint on Capitol Hill, and his staff is second to none in rock solid conservative principles,” Sen. Mike Lee of Utah said.

Best news of the day: JIM is BACK!

This was the biggest ray of sunshine as the McCONnell MTP charade presses forward. Jim DeMint is back and back in the best way possible.

And not a moment too soon!

Earlier today the Nancy Pelosi Democrats in the Senate voted to advance their vicious attacks in support of #ObamacareHell.

Millions of taxpayers are absolutely repulsed and disgusted. Millions in the middle class are terrified at having lost their healthcare plans and being forced into Progressive’s #SinglePayerHell.

Unfortunately, the cowardly Progressives never regret trading American lives for an Obamacare victory. They just keep on pretending government is the fix when Obamacare is only good for the rich, the well-connected and a handful of wealthy power brokers, like Nancy Pelosi.

If there was ever a time for you to join the fight for Full Repeal — it’s now. Now is the time to tell the Senate: We Want Full Repeal of Obamacare Hell. It is high time to end the Pelosi-Progressive conflict.

By midnight Wednesday, July 26th, I need 3,000 grassroots Constitutional  Conservatives to stand with me.

Can I count on you to rush $1 to support Mike Lee for Senate and Chris Herrod for Congress until the Conservative Partnership Institute has a donation page up and running?

Or donate here to directly help a vetted Constitutional Conservative of your choice.

Just focus on Lee and Cruz and…

The Ryan-McConnell tag team has just about worn out their welcome as far as I am concerned. This nightmare they have perpetuated with AHCA and now BCRA is shameful. Senator Mike Lee’s opinion, The Missing Ingredient in BCRA: Humility is absolutely spot on and that is why I am going to begin focusing on the solution makers, not the Progressive Republican Leadership.

Also stuck in my mind is this quote from JimDeMint when he and Glenn Beck had a great conversation about Jim joining with the Convention of States organization:

“But I’ve also realized that no matter what happens, no matter who we elect, Congress is never going to stop spending. That they’re going to keep spending and creating debt, until we have some kind of crisis or meltdown. And our Founders knew that that was a possibility, that they gave us the fire alarm on the wall, to break the glass and pull the lever. And that’s in Article V of the Constitution, where they’ve said the states could come together and propose amendments to the Constitution. In this case, we have to get the states to force the federal government to have physical restraint. To limited jurisdiction. And hopefully even to term limit members of Congress and maybe even the judiciary.”  ~ Source:EXCLUSIVE: Jim DeMint Weighs in on Russia and His New Role at Convention of States

And ICYMI, Ted Cruz knows how to #FrameTheDebate while taking on Progressives using sophistry to continue the Obamacare deception.

Three days and Five Packages

It is almost like Christmas, only better because we do not really do Christmas presents for ourselves because we get presents throughout the year. So it is like Christmas every time we get a package. And oh yeah. Lots of packages this week.

My adorable Uncle Ed discovered a Sylvania CD/Radio player that he absolutely loves. He is legally blind and he can work this player with great ease. With the price being so reasonable, he has purchased several as gifts to give to people who are blind or are going blind as a true gift of love in service to others.

He also bought one for my mother (she is not blind nor going blind). The one he bought for me arrived on Tuesday and the batteries he so thoughtfully purchased for me arrived on Wednesday.

By the way, I am not blind. He just loves me so he bought me one because he loves me.

Today my Indian Clubs with DVD arrived. Man-o-man I love those things. My Honey-do picked the package up at our office suite (UPS offers fabulous service) and brought it to me when I was at Guns Out CrossFit today. Cannot express how happy that made me except for the fact that I did open the box immediately, got them out, and as soon as the area was clear I went to town swinging those babies around.  #HappyHappyHappy

As I left the box I got a text, from Honey-do, and he said two more boxes had arrived. Oh yeah. I knew exactly what was in those puppies. He was back at work already. He said he would pick them up on the way home for me.

I know, a great Honey-do. #DontBeJealous

The Premium Set arrived after lunch time via UPS. Now I have every CrossRope there is to date. Next week I can begin CrossRope jumping again! Woohoo and Whoop-de-doooo!

And the last package was not one but two copies of Mike Lee’s book Written Out of History. One for me and one for…..

…..to be continued.

The Debacle: Still working through it

Research. More research. Extensive and ongoing research. I did search Jim DeMint on RushLimbaugh.com. Quoting extensively from What is Conservatism in the Age of Trump? let us begin with this fabulous quote from El Rushbo:

We had a caller earlier: “Where is our George Soros? Where is our moneybags funding our activists?” Well, we’ve got moneybags. We’ve got all kinds of moneybags! We’ve got all kinds of donors. But who is it that’s asking them for the money? I’m not trying to impugn anybody here. I’m just trying to set the table for you. Who asks for these donations? Magazines? Think tanks? Nonprofits? 501(c)(3)s? And what do they do? Well, they write and they publish and they do all that. Now, Jim DeMint at the Heritage Foundation actually gets involved with elected officials on the implementation of policy — writing it, crafting it, coming up with stuff that will pass.  ~

Rush pointed out this video in the piece, and that leads to questions below the embedded clip:

  • Who is standing for a Free Society?
  • And who is working to lower expectations?
  • Who is keeping their campaign promises?
  • And who keeps pushing things down the road for the next election cycle?

And I also found this great interview on Rush:
