Marco Rubio: A government that promises…

While on Twitter I saw several live Tweets about Marco Rubio speaking to “a business class at Catholic University.” Here are the news stories I read about his speech from links referenced in the tweets:

Two very different headlines, each designed to grab the attention of the reader, but my problem was with the reactions to Marco’s speech from, again, two very different headlines.

The Washington Post article is the first one that I read. It made blood shoot out of my eyes. On Twitter I tagged Dan Holler, who works for Rubio, asking him for the link to the actual copy of the speech. Dan was great to lead me to this link that was posted on Rubio’s Senate page and from that press release you can go read Rubio as the original source, not merely how his words were interpreted.

Reading the Daily Signal article did make me feel a little better, not much. Reading Marco’s speech, well, if nails on a chalkboard bothered me, yeah, that is the kind of feeling I would describe from this particular speech writing of Rubio.

Feel free to download Rubio’s speech and read along as you watch him give the speech below. You might jot down thoughts and questions in the margin of the Rubio script as you listen to him.

I have a lot more to say on this. My problem is that watching the video of the speech still make blood shoot out of my eyes. I have to cool my jets and go through it all again so I can write without screaming on the page. I have to check my emotional response to go through what really irritated me, and still irritates me about that which I am hearing come out of Marco’s Mouth.

Oh that Flake: That Yappy Jeff Flake

When I saw this headline in the Deseret News the other day, I thought blood would shoot out of my eyes.

Why Jeff Flake says the 2020 election is a chance for Republicans to save their souls

Jeff Flake for U.S. Senate – Monday, April 30, 2012

Yes. Jeff Flake was endorsed, after having been vetted by my favorite conservative watchdogs, The Senate Conservatives Fund (SFC).  SFC was Jim DeMint’s flagship to get true conservatives elected into the Senate. Team members carefully vetted, and still do, every candidate they endorse. Flake was no exception. Plus, Flake had a really good record from serving in the House.

What happened, Jeff?

Spit.

As SCF supporters know, Jeff Flake misled us and misled the voters in Arizona when he said he would never support amnesty for illegal immigrants again. Shortly after he won his Senate race in 2012, he broke that promise and sided with Senator John McCain (R-AZ) and other liberals in pushing amnesty.

Link: Senate Conservatives Fund

Yes. Oh yeah, that Jeff Flake misled and betrayed voters less than a year from his being elected into the Senate. That shockwave is never forgotten by those of us gobsmacked by his blatant betrayal. That is why many of us loathe him now.

But wait. There’s more. There is always more with Jeff Flake. And my questions are:

  1. Who’s backing him?
  2. Where are his funds coming from?
  3. How did they get him to flip?

Spit.

The media need to know, when reporting on Senator Flake and his “book,” that the author is a deceiver out for personal and financial gain.  I also call on my conservative brethren to denounce this impostor, who dishonorably claims to speak for conservatism, in the strongest possible terms.

Part 3: My takeaway from Mike Lee

The more Progressive Republicans pushback against Mike Lee for his ability and willingness to stand for the Forgotten Men and Women in America, the more I believe in him. Therefore, to Senator Orrin Hatch: Get Out of the Way. I will not be forgotten and that is why I stand with Mike Lee. By the way Orrin, I hit back too, you Republican Progressive. (Spit)

To help Senator Hatch see how shortsighted he is when it comes to seeing things as they really are just go to the Original Source, Mike Lee:

And now, for Senator Hatch’s benefit, let us lead off with a fantastic question from the Glenn Beck interview:

Why have Senate Republicans not yet voted on that which they promised for seven years they would enact if given the opportunity? Why have they not yet voted even on the 2015 version of the repeal bill.

You cannot accuse someone who wants us to do simply that which we promised, of wrecking the effort to do that which we promised, when that person — me — is simply advocating for us to do what we said we would do. That’s all we’re asking here. It’s not too much to ask, nor is it something that the American people should be asked to back away from.

  • We’ve been asked to settle over and over and over again as Americans.
  • ...it’s not time to settle.
  • ...time to expect more.
  • …time for us to keep our word.

Are you listening, Orrin? Remember when you first ran for the senate, in Utah? I do. What have you become?

Mike Lee continues to frame the debate stating:

  • Help is coming, I hope…..when we can pass something that will get rid of the federal government’s oppressive reach.
  • [to] solve all of our problems through the federal government….when we try to pretend that we can do that, we end up making things worse.
  • It ends up being really good for the rich and the well-connected…handful of big wealthy corporations and power brokers ….and a few other major cities will do really well…But everyone else tends to suffer.

Are you listening, Orrin? The fact is that Mike Lee is not fighting for dominance. Mike Lee is a far more tempered individual than you are, in my ever to be humble opinion.

  • the best relief we can provide… is to get Washington out of your way so that you can do what you do best and so that people will compete to provide health care services to you.

So there it is. Free Market Healthcare. Mike Lee gets it. He is not confused. He fully understands that Americans, the ones who put the GOP in office, want to be free to choose. And then BOOM! Mike Lee seals his argument again (my emphasis added):

“The problem with this is that the one thing that always has united us has been repeal. And that’s what we should have done at the outset.

There never has been widespread agreement among Republicans on what should come next. So we should start with what unites us.

Repeal has united us for several years.

Repeal needs to be the message right now. And repeal is the one thing we can achieve.”

There you have it Senator Hatch. Basta and back off dude. You can tell all of your little anonymous Republican Progressives the same thing, especially those who will not stand behind full repeal.

What a stinkin’ week in D.C.

Yeah. So yammer, yammer, yammer, “like a divorce” yammer, yammer what side of the family do you choose? Yammer, Yammer, yammer, “we may never know what happened behind closed doors”, yammer, yammer.

Oh yeah. We do. Heritage’s Saunders torched DeMint and who from Heritage has come forward to right that wrong. Yeah. The yammering goes on as if nothing happened so let’s all move on.

No. Let’s not buy into the yammer, yammer, spin and let’s call Ugly Torching of Jim DeMint in the Saunders news release the Ugly that it is so Heritage does not do that sort of Ugly to anyone again.

Now, let’s move on.

Stinkin’ Omnibus. Stinking Progressive Republican Leadership. Stinking Progressive Republicans who vote for it. Argh! (What line of Progressive does Marco Rubio vote on?)

Stinkin’ “…Executive Order on Religious Liberty Is Worse Than Useless.”

Stinkin’ The Not Repeal AHCA that is, allegedly, better than Obamacare has a snowball’s chance of ever becoming #FullRepeal in the Senate, allegedly.

Yeah. like a divorce. Only the children suffer.

Liars, Progressives, and OmnibusHell vs the Consistent Conservative: Jim DeMint

It has been a very long and exhausting day. I have been off and on the internet in very short spurts so do not really know what has been going on as the “hot topic” for the day other than #ProgressiveRepublicans and their #PRL have passed the Progressive #OmnibusHell bill and will never #FullRepeal as they bully votes for #Ryanocare instead.

That reminds me: Watch the LIARS segment about Margaret Sanger with Glenn Beck at the end of this post. And get the book.

On a positive note: The best part of my day was reading A Grateful Yet Regretful Farewell To Heritage’s Jim DeMint
