THE DEFINITION OF CRITICAL RACE THEORY:

1/ Critical Race Theory is an ideology started in academia in the 70’s that says racism exists everywhere – in every person and system – and the job of the critical race theorist is to assess HOW (not if) racism occured in any circumstance.

2/ Another way to think of critical race theory is this: It’s the opposite of what Martin Luther King preached. It is the idea that we should judge people on the basis of their race, that someone’s race is the only thing that matters about them, not the content of their character.

CRT PROBLEM: CONFIRMATION BIAS

1/ When you start with the conclusion that racism has occured and work your way back from that conclusion that is confirmation bias. You will only look for information that supports your conclusion.

2/ If you are looking for racism in everything then you will inevitably find racism in everything. You will misconstrue the most innocent thing as being a symbol of racism. You will also ignore data that contradicts your point so your are not showing the full spectrum of information.

3/ All that leads to the conclusion being confirmed and anyone who disagrees with you or points out all of the information you ignored is fragile. When you start with the conclusion you leave no room for the theory to develop.

The study of the doctrines of the gospel will improve behavior quicker than a study of behavior will improve behavior. Preoccupation with unworthy behavior can lead to unworthy behavior. That is why we stress so forcefully the study of the doctrines of the gospel.

He reiterated it years later in another sermon:

Doctrine can change behavior quicker than talking about behavior will.

If you only knew how many things…

One of my favorite lines from the television production of ANNE OF GREEN GABLES comes from Anne Shirley:

I know I chatter on far too much but if you only knew how many things I want to say and don’t.

That is how I feel as I sit to write on day 43/365. I have a bazillion thoughts just running through my mind so I am simply going to write. Do not worry. I will not think them all out on paper.

That reminds me. You know Jonathan Crombie died. Totally broke my heart, such a young fellow. Colleen Dewhurst, passed away several years ago and so did another favorite in the mini-series, Richard Farnsworth, who’s death was crushing to hear of when it happened.

I totally love that particular cast, having watched that particular series beaucoup times. It was the most absolutely charming production. Just delightful.

Okay, so back to some other thoughts.

I received a wonderful suprise in the form of a book. It is titled A PARTICLE OF FAITH by Jason A. Densley and was told he has a second book coming out. I forgot the title of the next book but it does not matter because first things first. This book must be read first therefore it is on this week’s to do list.

This weekend was, what is called in my Cburch, Stake Conference. The theme, YOUR NEXT STEP. was the same one from the last Stake Conference, held in October. A great theme, the speakers had the opportunity to teach doctrine from many perspectives on how to improve oneself with the continued focus on how to draw nearer to Heavenly Father, feel the healing power of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to recognize, then obey the promptings of the Holy Ghost.

The testimonies that were shared by those who accepted assignments to speak were awe inspiring. And though I am practically perfect in every way (thank you Mary Poppins – no comments from the peanut gallery), the sweetest feelings of encouragement to become a more disciplined follower of Christ filled my heart.

It was a fabulous Sabbath day.

Ryanocare: So mad I could spit!

Reading through so much info on the, alleged, Republican Obamacare bill today, all I feel is disgust. Paul Ryan and Mike Pence and all of the GOP Leadership appear to be exercising sophistry against the Conservatives in Congress with this #Ryanocare plan.

So to my friend who asked me what I think: I am so mad I could spit.

To everyone who voted for Speaker Ryan to remain in power, how is that working out for you now?

Oooo, that Mike Pence. Yeah. Wanting to spit over the Pence article below, my advice to members of congress, especially mine in Florida: #REVOLTandFULLREPEAL.

Read why #RyanocareHell = #ObamacareHell and then take it to your member of Congress. (And please, if you spit, do not tell them I sent you.)

Too bad Speaker Paul Ryan and my Congressman, Bill Posey, cannot be more like the indomitable Senator Mike Lee on #FullRepeal and The Laudable Pursuit as a #BetterWay.

After all, true principles of Conservatism implemented consistently are the only way to keep Americans free.

Remember what the American people were sold: FULL REPEAL

WHEN will GOP Leadership just go with the flow and have an UP or DOWN VOTE on #FullRepeal?

Or is the GOP Leadership afraid to merely shut up and and simply vote Yes or No on #FullRepeal?

Americans have lost their doctors.
Americans are paying penalties for care they cannot afford nor deserve.
Americans have outrageous increases in premiums that keep going up.
Americans know the ACA is a taxpayer nightmare for generations to come.
Americans know they had the best healthcare system in the world long before the Progressives began meddling in and changing the system.
Americans know that Congress has the right to to FULL REPEAL ALL OF THE ACA.
Americans know Congress has the power to set the nation back on proper course.

To clarify things for Republican Leadership:

Americans know Jim Jordan is keeping his promise to fully repeal Obamacare.
Americans support Jim Jordan for his integrity in pressing forward with #FullRepeal.
Americans heartedly commend Jim Jordan for breaking away from weak Republican Leadership.

And to be sure there is no misunderstanding, Americans are sick and tired of middle-of-the-road–milk toast – mediocre Republicans in the House and Senate. Americans will no longer tolerate your backroom dealings with your front room facades.

The #BetterWay, the best solution, is to simply vote on One Sentence: Full Repeal First.

CPAC 2017: Original Sources

I love to watch CPAC but this year my schedule did not allow me much time for keeping up with everything on this opening day. Thank Heavens for the Internet and YouTube for providing live streaming of the event and especially for all of the organizations that have posted videos.

Deneen Borelli is wonderful, powerful and I know that for a fact because I met her once and watched speak LIVE at a Freedom Works event. Today I thought she was spectacular with this recap and her personal insight:

Jim DeMint, a Consistent Conservative, is someone I have watched for years and I was fortunate enough to have met with him when I lived in Florida. I have learned a lot from watching and listening to Jim and today was no different. Jim understands how, like all of my favorite Consistent Conservative do, to frame a debate.

This segment with Governors discussing Federalism was excellent. I particularly enjoyed Governor Walker with his dollar bill object lesson.

I heard a small portion of Ted Cruz’s segment with Mark Levin earlier today but I am excited to watch the entire interview now, well, as soon as I finish this post because Ted mentioned #FireBureaucrats and that was music to my ears!
