Over or Under selling #TaxReform?

I am all for the GOP Tax Reform Bill IF they pull the best out of both bills and pass something that will help the taxpayer. But here is the problem in getting the best bill out of the Conference Committee:

Conference committee could still destroy tax reform

And here are several other problems: Progressives. Check out their Liberty Scorecards and their Heritage Action Scorecards to see how fiscally conservative they are.

For example, see Claire McCaskill, the 21st richest lawmaker on Capitol Hill in 2015, Conservative Review here and on Heritage Action here.

Ask yourself: How do each of her complaints about the current GOP tax plan really matter? Is she really serious or is she just grandstanding and complaining without just cause? Is she really concerned about the taxpayer based upon her lifestyle or does she simply live out of taxpayer pockets? Is she really concerned about all taxpayers or just some taxpayers?  Just who is worthy to pay taxes and who is worthier to live off the blood money of some taxpayers? And will she ever stop spending long enough to Cut, Cap, and Balance a Budget?

And of course…

Here is…

And a few other things worth reading before you make up your own mind:

Without naming the title….

This morning on Twitter my friend posted a response to the question: Without naming the title, what is your favourite movie?

That question made me smile for just last night the Honey-do and I were talking about how much we loved growing up with our parents favorite movies and shows. We remember growing up with black and white movies on television and I remember having a black and white television when my parents could finally afford one.

“Walk slow, like you do when you come to pay your taxes.”

It is difficult to choose my favorite movie but the above quote is from a movie I like very much. Seems appropriate to quote while waiting with bated breath to see if the Progressive Republicans will actually pass a meaningful #TaxReform.

Seriously, I do not see Paul Ryan or Mitch McCONnell running toward #StopSpending or permanently, let alone immediately, #Kill the #DeathTax or the #ParentTaxPenalty or #SALT either.

And what about that #ContinuingSpendingResolution vs #BalancedBudget?

“You’d be surprised how quickly things get done when you do some actual work and don’t rely on political favors.”

The Big Whoop Tax Plan: a little whoop

There have been alleged tax plans and rumors of tax plans running rampant for weeks. Today there is a big whoop about the official tax plan however, it is worthy of a little whoop since there is still more to this marathon than shooting out of the starting blocks. There seems to be a severe overselling of the plan and I am hoping there will be enough support for it to keep a continued momentum to stomp excessive taxation and spending into the ground.

Begin here with Senator Mike Lee’s joint statement with Senator Marco Rubio:

Nov 02 2017

WASHINGTON – Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement Thursday in response to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act released by House Ways and Means Chairman Kevin Brady (R-TX):

“We appreciate the hard work and countless hours our colleagues in the House have put into crafting this legislation. As we’ve long said, tax reform should be about making the code more pro-growth and pro-family. The House bill is an important step in the process.”

“The best way to provide real relief to working families is through a straightforward, significant, and permanent expansion of the child tax credit. We wish the House draft had done more on this front – preferably doubling the credit to $2,000 per child and expanding its applicability to payroll taxes. We look forward to working with our colleagues to make sure working families are moved to the front of the line in the Senate bill.”

The Daily Signal has a piece: House GOP Unveils Details of Tax Reform Bill.
Heritage Action put out a press release: HOUSE REPUBLICANS UNVEIL TAX REFORM PLAN.
The plan still has a long way to go. It will be interesting to see how things go, what pork will be added in, what good things will be reduced or taken out, as the senate enters the arena.
We shall see what happens next. It could be weakened further or, if heartedly debated, there may be a few grander concessions take place with pressure from the voters to their  representatives.
Honestly, IF all in D.C. had to abide by the same rules as the common man, there would be significantly greater changes to the tax code from the get go.

Is Paul Ryan trying to look Presidential?

It seems like Paul Ryan is working very hard at running for a future presidential campaign.  Everything is so well staged. Everything appears to be dignified. Most notably things seem to make him appear like a young Jack Kennedy. It seems like Ryan’s handlers are preparing him to look like a leader for a run for something bigger, in the near future.

If that is indeed the case then Paul Ryan needs to be well vetted on his true leadership capabilities and where he specifically stands on smaller government because frankly, for all of his yammering and staged personality, I find him sorely lacking in his performance claims.

  • What exactly, as a LEADER, has Paul Ryan done to cut taxes and spending and rein in the debt?
  • What exactly, as a LEADER, has Paul Ryan done to limit the size and scope of the federal government and return authority to states and to the American people?
  • What exactly, as a LEADER, has Paul Ryan done to get rid of Obamacare and promote health care solutions based on free enterprise, not government controls?
  • What exactly, as a LEADER, has Paul Ryan done to protect America from foreign threats, secure the border, and develop a robust, principled foreign policy that puts America first?
  • What exactly, as a LEADER, has Paul Ryan done to ensure that our judges and lawmakers uphold the Constitution of the United States, starting by halting executive overreach?

But first, let us flashback to November 17, 1998when Paul Ryan set foot on the political path to Speaker of the House…and beyond? Take your time and really listen to the whole question and answer segment, especially after the section on his family.

Note: And remember when Paul Ryan said“I want to say to the American people: We hear you. We will do right by you. And we will deliver.” (Begin at 4:19)

In case you missed it, watch and listen to Thomas Massie: At least McConnell got health care bill to a vote.

And thanks to Thomas Massie, that is why I keep asking those original questions of Mr. Speaker and why you should ask him too, especially now it appears he is walking the walk on that path to a presidential run.

#NoBailouts  #FullRepeal  #CutCapBalance

#MakeGovernmentSmallAgain

#RealTaxReform

In fairness I must point out Jim Geraghty’s piece in National Review: A Busy House but specifically quote him in paragraph three :

“In fact, the House keeps sending bills over to the Senate, month after month: 250 in all so far this year…. Quite of few of those bills are minor — …but a significant number would count as accomplishments worth boasting about on the campaign trail next year if they were signed into law.

Oh yeah, and #WeAreStillWaiting Mr. Speaker.

Revenue Neutral: A Liarspalooza

Revenue Neutral is not Congress cutting spending.

Revenue Neutral is not Congress capping spending..

Revenue Neutral will not Make Government Small Again.

Revenue Neutral is not about the Proper Role of Government

Revenue Neutral is not Tax Reform.

Revenue Neutral is about Control. It is about some in Congress wanting to maintain control of your hard earned money by redistributing it to their favorite projects and agendas and people. Instead of living on a budget or scrapping redundant or useless or wasteful or unconstitutional programs, ones that infringe upon unalienable rights, some in Congress want to keep spending your money without consequence, without conscience, and without just cause.

Seriously Republicans, get a grip on it and stand for something.

You said. We believed you. We Won.

Now go and win some more. Take Back America!

Full Repeal. No Bailouts. No Excuses. Cut, Cap, and Balance that stinkin’ budget already. Sheesh.

FULL Repeal is Tax Reform!

This is going to be brief because seriously, I am so sick of the Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell lies regarding so many things that I could spit.

Mark Sandford was right.

Mike Lee was right.

Seven years of promises and now the Republican Progressives are equally as corrupt as any Democrat Progressive when it comes to looking out for the taxpayers. And so are the alleged Moderates.

There is no stinking thing as a Moderate. A Moderate is also a Progressive.

Spit.

Bottom line, I cannot read one more report about anything to do with whatever the current bill is being promoted or set out there to keep, even partially, ObamacareHELL.

The principle of good governance depends on leaders who understand choice and accountability, the law of the harvest – meaning bad things happen to good people but when looked at with the law of abundance, there is enough to go around IF the government gets out of the way.

Everyone knows the government does not create wealth nor can it compel a spirit of charity or benevolence, or altruism as the secularists call it.

Government gives and takes money away. It takes from some to give to others. That is not charity. That is forced redistribution of wealth and that is neither freedom nor benevolence.

Real tax reform begins with Full Repeal of the Obamacare Tax. There cannot be any bailouts. And Congress needs to get a grip on itself. Congress must rise up to CUT, CAP and BALANCE THE BUDGET if real tax reform is to have any effect. Congressional addiction to living out of taxpayer pockets must end.

What do you do with a drunken sailor?

What do you do with the people you voted into power, or maybe you did not vote them into power because the candidate of your choice was far more fiscally conservative, and now those you did not vote for are, seemingly, in a drunken stupor over their perceived power and control to manipulate and gerrymander the legislative process?

I remember when, and still believe, Mitch McConnell lied to Ted Cruz.

And recently, I wonder who lied when….

Now there are those pushing for Tax Reform. But what about fully repealing Obamacare as essential to serious tax reform?

Get out your copy of The Declaration of Independence. Read it and then read this:

So what to do?

America is not a country for servile men and women. We not only have a right to be free, but a duty to be free. For “when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”

Take Back the Culture: Karen Vaughn

A friend posted a little blurb regarding those young people “our economy has left behind.” Immediately I remembered a Forbes article I had read several years ago, 2013 to be exact:

Want A Job? Prepare To Play Multiple Roles

In a lifetime, the average person holds about 10 jobs across seven different careers, studies show. Of course, workers are more likely to switch jobs when they’re young and have no dependents, but one in five workers over 50 who are less than a decade away from retirement are contemplating career changes as well. ~ Rahul Mistry

And then I remembered an even earlier article by Alan Dunn, in 2012:

Failure to Launch: Adult Children Moving Back Home

People who use their parents as a safety net with no greater financial goal in mind are doomed to never launch away from home; those who use it as a carefully-calculated stepping-stone to a more successful life are much more likely to launch successfully and stay independent. ~ Alan Dunn

Last night, as I looked up to my movie poster of MURPH, THE PROTECTOR, I thought how time has dimmed too many memories. How many people will remember the ultimate sacrifices from those difficult, tragic days?

Then today, as I pondered over the original notations from my friend that included more on the Americans For Prosperity tax reform plans when my thoughts went immediately to: Where is the talk of cutting spending, capping spending, and balancing the budget to go along with tax reform? Where are the demands to kill the #ObamacareTax nightmare? Where are the voices clamoring to get government out of our way?

Navy SEAL’s Mom Shares Her Secret to Raising Strong Sons

In the background I had my Roku Player tuned into The Blaze television. Karen Vaughn was on the Glenn Beck Radio program. Karen could not have been a more well-timed guest. She helped me put things back into perspective when she said:

“…what I realized after Aaron died was, he gave his life for me, fighting a battle kinetically to protect and preserve the American way of life. Not a government. Not a piece of land. But a way of life.”

And here is where I end Part 1 of my thoughts for today: Take Back The Culture. Start by reading the interview from today.

And then there is Paul Ryan…

Who can believe a word Paul Ryan says about #TaxReform when he did not even pass a bill for #FullRepeal?

If Congress Is Serious About Tax Reform, It Should Stop Passing Bills Like This

Yeah. I will believe Paul Ryan when… yeah, I cannot finish that statement just yet as in maybe ever
