Going off Facebook for a season

Several weeks ago I thought about going off Facebook. Then the scandal hit. Well, it actually has been hitting for years, it just became blatantly obvious to millions as it got picked up in the news.

So by Tuesday midmorning I will take a sabbatical from my Facebook. You can find me here, Instagram, and on Twitter. Well, Twitter for a while longer. I am thinking about going off it too.

Cheerio until next time.

Somewhat bored…

One of the side effects from taking on this 365 daily writing challenge is that I have become bored with some of my social media threads, so much so that I am ready to go somewhat cold turkey off of them.

Yeah. I am going to make that happen.

Trying to learn a song in French

I am pretty nervous and excited about the opportunity to sing on Thursday, November 30th at 6:30 p.m. for the 2017 Montgomery Interfaith Nativity in Montgomery, Alabama. My friend, Tina Gann, has graciously agreed to accompany me. She is a fabulous accompanist and quite the accomplished pianist. We will be getting together this week to talk about our twenty minute musical lineup.

One of my favorite songs we are definitely performing is Gesu Bambino, text by Frederick Herman Martens, music by Piertro Alessandro Yon, and edited by Charles J. Cardin.

Another song I want to sing is Bring a Torch, Jeanette Isabelle however I would love to learn it in French as originally published, Un Flambeau, Jeanette, Isabelle.

Today I have been listening to two different YouTube versions of the song in order to translate the French phonetically so I can learn the pronunciation. Then, I will have my French-American CrossFit Coach Charles help me make any final corrections to my pronunciation before I commit it all to memory.

Pretty amazing technology. And how cool is that to have a native French speaking CrossFit Coach to help me in the middle of Alabama?

Awesome I tell ya! Simply Awesome.

And it will truly be Christmas miracle awesome if I can learn it in French over the next few weeks!

Know what the Elites are reading?

Almost two years ago I wrote a piece about Why I Bother about being politically active and it applies to why I read and research information that is important to me. And then once in a while I find things that The Opposition are reading or writing and I, depending upon who recommends it to me, may or may not read it.

Today there was a fascinating interview on Glenn Beck’s radio show. Read the transcript of the conversation here:

Will the Next Big Revolution Create a Worthless Class of Humans?

Now you understand why, like the Elites, I will be reading:

Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow

And you should too. You will be caught behind the curve if you do not understand what worthless means and who the worthless class currently is and who will be in it in the future.
